Split: Is it fair to keep people banned for what they did as child?

I'm in the same situation as you, except I literally never scammed anything. 8 years ago when I was 15, I changed my name to match AcesGamer's steam name (steamrep admin at the time) who I was playing a competitive scrim vs, to troll him and poke fun. All I want to do is play MGE mod and community servers, but half of them won't let me in for being a "scammer" because of an immature joke I made. It is really frustrating lmao, and my appeal got denied because I forgot to disclose an alt account I had, 8 YEARS AGO.
