    After I chased status down last night, he was marked on steam rep. When I informed Dgarden of this and asked him for trade history, he responded that he doesn't talk to strangers and didn't cooperate. I'm assuming this is a caution tag rather then scammer. I'm aware that status sold the hats for 45% or even less than their value.

    Got proof that he purposely traded with a scammer, or are you going around searching every single trader to find out if they traded with a scammer?
