    Scam Report

Report Type: [Rep Fraud] Impersonation with intent to defraud
Virtual item type involved: [TF2] Team Fortress 2 Items

    Accused profile: 76561197961757318

    Victim profile: 76561198049414145

    What happened? Description:
ego added me and asked if I still had my unusual (a miami nights nunhood). I said yes, and told him my list price was 60 keys. He immediately agreed, but asked that I wait a couple of minutes so that he could "acquire keys." When he came back, he asked if I had a trusted friend online I could hand the unusual over to first so that he could make sure the hat was not duped. Handing over the hat to check if it's duped is unnecessary, and I offered him a link to the hat's history, but he insisted. I then assumed that he was trying to pull an impersonator scam, and either impersonate my friend or myself to trick one of us into trading the hat to him. I called him out on it, and now he refuses to respond to me, so I can only infer that he was trying to scam me.

    Provide Evidence:
The chat png contains the proof of initial trade agreement and the scam attempt; the other png shows the profile that loads after I load the profile from the steam chat.
