What happened? Description:

Impersonator of a high level account tried to scam me using this "item verification method" by asking a middleman that is banned here on SteamRep to make the items distribution.​

Hi.

I left a message on the profile of an user who has an item of my interest. Less than a minute before, I got a comment (he deleted it) on one of my screenshots saying that he would add me via his smurf account since his main account friend list was full.

He added me and we start chating... I just realize it was a scam attempt when he asked me to read a "trade guide" like this. After this I just played his game...

In this guide there are 4 admin profiles that could do the "item verification". One of them (his "middleman" accomplice) is actually banned on SteamRep:
