What happened? Description:

This user reached out to me, curious to know if I was buying skins. I replied that I wasn't, but I was intrigued by his offer. My plan was to trade $800 worth of skins, along with $1400 in USDC, to a different legitimate trader for MW Amphibious gloves. I discussed my plan with Devil, who claimed he could secure these gloves for me at a 27% discount using a Buff.163 voucher code using the points he had accumulated from the site. At this point, I was seriously considering purchasing these gloves at a discount.

When I asked about the purchasing process, he suggested that I sell my skins on CSGOEmpire so that I could 'tip' him the coins. Accordingly, I sold the skins, transferred the CSGOEmpire coins to him, and later deposited $1400 in USDC cryptocurrency into CSGOEmpire to tip him again. He received the tip and could have ghosted me. Instead, he promised to contact Buff.163 support to transfer the 16900 RMB to my Buff account.

Nothing happened for a while, until he responded to my confusion, assuming everything was fine and that I had received the balance. At that moment, he was on his phone and told me he would switch to his PC shortly. His profile went private after that, but he hasn't removed me as a friend. I had trusted this guy due to our mutual friends who are legitimate traders. Ultimately, this turned out to be a significant loss and a costly lesson.

I've retained the entire chat log for reference, and everything has been recorded using OBS.​
