Fake rep is very much deceptive practice and searches will provide extant threads where SR Staff have commented on just why this is so. In any case the user should appeal if he feels his tag in not justified.

Datastorm posted some time ago explaining fake rep in some detail, sadly I don't have time right now to track it down.

VenGanZa i know you remember me because i always go on your TF2 trader server all the time and i have traded with you many time in the past you even trust me i sold you the Steaming modest and you said if i make proft then ill give you half of what i get and you said if i dont sell it in a month then i must buy it back we both agreed to these terms since you know i go on the server all the time and i have never scamed anyone before and saying i have bad gammer does is not very nice thing to say sorry i have difficulty when i was in high school so thanks for making fun of me also ive aready made an appeal and if i have to get all my friends and a lot of people ive sold buds/keys to or even traded with before to tell you that am a trusted and non scammer player then i must do this i can make it happen the fact that i made the "Fake Rep" witch happened over 5 months ago when i was a new player makes no sence to me why this is happening now and i never said anything to anyone about saying that i have "steam rep" i simply said i have rep meaning i refer to my profile but at the time i didnt even know what steamrep.com was so if we could talk 1 on 1 about what is happening id like to add you and talk to you -GoV- VenGanZa thank you for your time and thank you Sharken for the help i already made a appeal and im trying to figure out what is going on and why you guys so harshly gave me scammer tags witch ruins my reputation with tf2 traders and im banned from every server i try to go on.

Oh yes Luci, I recall buying the modest. From memory I didn't sell it for much over what I paid and I gave you half of the extra profit (was some number of keys from memory right?)

Yes the best thing is appeal in a clear and honest manner.

How i talk to people? Read the start of the post? I was not at all rude what so ever. When people started coming at me thats when i get fierce

alright yah i made my appeal hopefully we can get this resolved i just wanted to make sure you knew who i was we have defiantly traded before and i go on the TF2-trader server all the time you would remember my voice but thanks for your help and your time

As many pointed out, the tagged one can appeal. I only glanced at the fake rep report, didn't check all details. That report is the main reason for the tag, as saying so in the other report.

On another note, somebody having a caution or scammer tag doesn't mean that their entire opinion is non-valid on a subject. There are WAY more trolls out there then there are scammers, so apply the normal "filters" when reading somebody's points, but don't dismiss them based on a rep status.

Everyone who is friends with a scammer thinks their scammer friend is innocent, just like every woman who has a boyfriend in prison thinks their "boo" is innocent.

Also, it is just common sense that you don't use alternate accounts to put "+rep" on yourself. Why? Because you are LYING. You are blatantly lying to other people and claiming that there was a trade with someone other than yourself when there was not. It's like writing love letters to yourself and showing it to your friends as "proof" that your imaginary girlfriend is real.

I just want to know where the parents of these kids are and how they failed so spectacularly that their sons think it's totally fine to lie & steal. I need to start calling parents, I think, and chat with them about what their sons are doing online.
