First I would like to say that Voided, the owner of Saxton Hell who reported me, has got into a fight several times with me and we are both liable to bias.

So, I got into a fight with the owner and left his administration. I handled several donors, so I natural held and traded donor keys. He literally called me idiotic, stupid, and clueless. Naturally, I left. Now I'm banned from his servers and marked as a scammer because I refuse to give him keys back that he uses to buy games.

The fight we entered was due to a petty argument over his game preference, so excuse if the chat seems awkward. Most of this fight has been carried over from previous arguments, so this one chat is only one small incident. The fight occurred over skype.

In case it is not obvious, I am Austin Emerson.

Also, I cant find a report thread on me. I searched both active threads and archived threads. If that could be linked here that could help me understand why I was banned.

In short, I don't understand why I was marked as a scammer. I got into a fight with an owner of a community, no where did I scam anyone. If needed I can post chat logs of him calling me all sorts of things and if absolutely needed I can have other admins support my character. Hopefully this can be all sorted out sometime soon.

As the individual that originally reported you, I'll weigh in my thoughts on the matter.

I'll digress to the SteamREP admins (in particular: Helen, who originally handled the report), but I find the following quote very confusing:

You're stating here that you're refusing to give the keys back. As such, you're retaining ownership over keys that have been exchanged for donator perks for the sole purpose of paying for server bills. Seeing how I wholly pay said server bills, those keys rightfully belong to me and my community. Regardless of the disagreement we had, you are in effect stealing property that belongs to my community.

I find this accusation childish, insulting, and frankly unnecessary. Donation proceeds have always been put forward to cover server costs, and any extra has always been saved up for "rainy days" when donations slow down and can't cover the costs.

You own 500+ games with no source of income. There's a logical deduction that anyone can make. Anyways the main point is that the keys were willingly given to me and that a petty fight is no basis for a steamrep scammer status.

Nowhere in the steamrep investigative policy does it say it solves money disputes among a community. Also, it only handles steam trading. By your own words you use money for "server bills", meaning a type of currency entirely outside of Steam trading. I don't know why steamrep is even bothering itself with this, the issue is totally outside of Steam trading.

Here's the steamrep investigative policy if you want to actually read it

Read Rule #1 of what they do not investigate

Again, this isn't relevant to the dispute at hand, but I still feel this statement should be clarified. According to Steam I own 513 games, which is in line with your accusation. However, I have also had my Steam account for approximately 8 years, and a good chunk of the games I own had been picked up in various sales whether on Steam or through Humble Indie Bundle purchases, or similar.

Your statement that I have no income is, unfortunately, incorrect. I do informal contract work for various other TF2 communities: fixing/making plugins and Steam bots.

There is no "money" dispute. The dispute is over TF2 keys that you refuse to return to their owner.

I'm not a SteamREP admin or moderator so I can't entirely back up my claim here, but the policy states:

In our case, the dispute is over keys that were received through Steam trading, so it still falls inside that realm.

As a last comment, after our disagreement I made attempts to contact you in order to retrieve the keys. You ignored or declined any request I made, be it on Steam or on Skype. All I ask is that you return the keys and we can go our separate ways.

I'm not going to argue with you, I and every other admin has had enough of it. You avoided the normal protocol to lash out at me and the very existence of this thread is ridiculous.

The keys were entrusted to me and I signed no contract claiming they were owned by you. It was a trust based relationship that you broke.

The entire situation is an administration dispute and is outside of any Steam game. The dispute qualifies to be considered invalid by two out of the three rules this community maintains.

This doesn't fall under server administration disputes because it is not a server administration dispute- it is theft through the Steam trading system. By server administration disputes, we're talking about things such as donator status and map disputes.

This is not true, as I explained above. You took items that did not belong to you. You cannot hide behind your interpretation of our policies and try to twist them to your favor.

I don't care who you are or what went on between you two- that is utterly and completely irrelevant. What the evidence clearly shows is that you had an agreement to collect donations for this server. You broke this agreement and stole from the server owner. Why you did it is irrelevant- we don't deal with emotions here, only facts. Stealing is stealing, theft is theft. It doesn't matter what you think he does with whatever- the fact of the matter is that if you agree to take on a responsibility of holding assets through Steam trading, and you take those assets instead for your own gain and thus break the agreement, you are stealing. It doesn't matter if you're collecting donations, participating in a spycrab, or middlemanning a trade- if you break your agreement, you are in the wrong.

I don't have any bias. I don't know either one of you. I only go by the evidence and the evidence clearly shows a scam. You can't hide behind "server administration disputes" to try to justify your stealing of keys through the Steam trading system- especially when that policy wouldn't apply here anyway.

Due to the amount of flaming and arguing back and forth, I am locking this thread until an appeals admin can handle it.
