Description:
A guy with the name of Jake.BeamsTC adds me to trade his sunbeams Team Captain for my Ghosts Team Captain plus additional promos. I did not check his steamrep before trading hence I did not know he was a marked scammer. After we traded, I was banned from outpost a minute later for trading with him and later tagged as scammer. I know it is my fault that I should have checked his steamrep before trading. This is also my first time I have traded with a marked scammer.

I had added Jailbait to appeal and he said that I have traded with scammers multiple which I clealy have not. He does not know why Valve banned me and assusmed that it was due to trading with "multiple" scammers.

Even I dont know exactly why I was banned. All I know is that I was banned on february 17 for 2 weeks because I think I traded my Dota 2 for buds with doc scratch prior to that. At that time his steamrep was clean as there was no report of him being hijacked. I am not sure I traded with the real doc or his hijacker. However I remember one part of chat where he asked me if I only wanted 1 buds or 2 and I said 1 is a fair price. He then said after the trade that he sold my dota 2 for 2 unusuals and made a 1 bud profit. If doc can confirm this (not sure if he remembers) then I believe I traded with the real guy.

I would like to appeal my ban which I feel was given unfairly by Jailbait without any report and no chance for me to explain whatsoever.

No I was not given enough chance to explain. You kept repeating that I traded with scammers multiple times even though I said that this was my first time. You don,t ban someone outright and mark for trading with a scammer if its the first instance. Do you have any evidence that I have traded with scammers before?

This is me trading with Doc on Feb 14th. There was no tag that he had been hijacked at that time.

I am very sorry and I wont do it again, I was never planning to help a scammer, and I just checked, the reason why he is marked a scammer is because he buy hijacked items over and over. This guy dosen't care about trading with marked scammers.

Heya, I guess I dont have a lotta say on here, but from previous experiences, Oatmeal is a good bloke, and has made 1-2 bad decisions. I dont know the full story with the tc nor the tyrants. I personally can say, I hardly check anyones steamrep if they add me unless they have a private profile, im sure this is the same for most traders.
I would like to say I trust Oat with my bp... He is fair and honest, and made as previously stated 1-2 bad decisions, which in his defence, are bad, but in my eyes, forgiveable.
I just thought you guys would like my input if you care at all.

If he was banned on tf2outpost would I have traded with him? No because that is how he contacted me. You let him sell his stuff on Outpost and then expect users to see if he is marked scammer or not? Why would anyone check SteamRep if the user is not banned? So are you now going to ban all your TF2OP users who have traded with Symezy?

Please dont use dual policy with scammers. I see all 10$ donators who are scammers and trade with scammers to freely use outpost. My Searing El jefe was scammed by this user and since he is 10$ donator he has since been unbanned and his scammer tag repealed.

You are being a hypocrite in banning me 1 min after my trade and then marking me while you dont ban your 10$ donators and in fact repeal their ban.

I'm not superman, I don't have a spider-sense that tingles every time a user who is marked uses the site. It is your job, not mine to check who you are dealing with. You seemed to be very concerned about buying hats that have been scammed, yet you yourself have been trading with scammers multiple times. Who is the hypocrite now? How about you get down from your high horse and accept that you screwed up, instead of trying to push blame on me, and having your stupid little friend telling me that 'buying from scammers is fine' and that 'nobody checks steamrep'.

Also, you weren't scammed, and the user was marked according to the severity of his actions.

Also I ban donators all the time. They have absolutely no immunity from the rules, a common misconception that is made by a certan number of ignorant individuals who fail to look at clearly written policies regarding the matter.

Who said buying from scammers is fine? And yes people dont check steamrep when the trade is being with items inside a trade window. That's why till today I did not know Symezy was a marked scammer as he can so freely sell his items on outpost. And that Tyrants-TC trade was one trade and not a multiple trade with Symezy. If I am going to remain marked because of this, I expect each and every member who traded with him since he was marked to be banned as well. Guess you can do that now since I have taken the liberty to let your spider senses be aware of the situation.

You unbanned the guy who had traded me a stolen hat and that is why his tag was removed and not the other way round. In my case I was banned and then tagged because of that ban. In his case he was untagged because his ban on outpost was lifted.

The fact of the matter is high value traders are overlooked when buying from scammers and hijackers and if a small unknown trader makes a mistake and buys from a scammer, he is instantly banned and marked.

Again, pushing blame around. I can look in to people who traded with marked scammers, and issue a caution to them. What I can't do is hand out bans to one time trades with scammers. VALVe had the right idea trade banning you for giving scammers buisness. Also, calling yourself a 'small' trader, after buying a beams TC made me laugh.

I'm going to look in to this when I get home.
