Description: I have added this person as a friend a while back, and since after this ordeal I'm thinking of removing him shortly.

I traded him my unusual hound dog (w/ smoking effect) for his unusual dread knot (w/ orbiting planets). I figured they were about the same price so I traded the hat. After finding out the hat i traded for was a crappy unusual he refused to trade me back my old unusual, so this is where I started reporting the scammer.

That isn't plain trolling he was pulling, that's the kind of shenanigans that can drive the "Mannconomy" to the bottom of the lake.

There doesn't appear to be any scam that took place here. It occurred purely through steam trading, and both users agreed on the trade. With unusual trading its up to the traders to understand the values of their hats (sharking is a different story). What was that the time frame between when you traded, and when you asked for a trade back? You probably dont have a claim to ask for your hat back because you are dissatisfied with the trade. I'm not sure there is anything that can be done.

This is more your fault than his. You should have researched the price before blindly thinking it was a fair deal, and for the most part, prices are mildly subjective anyway.
