Appeal description:

Dear SteamRep Appeals Committee,

I am writing to appeal my ban from SteamRep. Over 10 years ago, when I was still in high school and around 15-16 years old, I participated in a "quickswitch" scam in TeamFortress 2, which involved switching an unusual item in the trade menu with another of lesser value without the other person's knowledge. The item in question was a green energy unusual handymans handle worth around $40, which I switched with a confetti unusual handymans handle worth around $18.

I regret my actions and have since offered to repay the person I scammed twice the value of the item. I had no idea that this mistake would result in a ban on SteamRep for over 10 years, and it has been a hindrance to my involvement in the Steam community. I am a music producer and graphic designer under the name "Mr. WildFire" and I believe I could be a valuable asset to the Steam community.

I finally got in touch with someone in the reddit group to appeal my ban.

I understand that my actions were wrong and have not scammed anyone since. I was dealing with personal issues at the time and have since grown and learned from my mistake. I have no proof to offer given the length of time that has passed, but I hope that my sincerity and willingness to make amends are taken into account.

This "quickswitch" scam was only possible back when there was in-game trading in 2011. It took me hours to scroll through the trading history of my account, but as soon as I get to the year 2011 it no longer shows the names of the people I traded with. Nor is the history recorded on websites that track it like backpack.tf

I thought he had posted on steamrep forums to report me, although I tried researching and I can't seem to find anything from 2011.

I can tell you the exact date of the scam was Nov 13th, 2011.
