Collateral

Thanks, i have a short term like memory.

A broker is someone who sells something on behalf of someone else (and in this game the item must be on broker's BP at least in terms of OP rules).

Collateral is something pledged as security for loan (in the case of TF2 usually an item).

Collateral example:

Say you want to trade for a non-tradable, but giftable item. you agree to buy the item and provide the giftwrap. What will happen is:

- you trade with seller: you give him the gift wrap, and he gives as "collateral" a key (about the worth of the gift wrap).
- Seller gift wraps the item you are buying
- You trade for the gift wrapped item with seller, and give him his key back + your aggreed price in items in the trade.

if you trade in cash, the collateral still is only traded when the original item is returned or solved.
