Bait and Switch.
This charlatain wanted to sell me his White Summer Hat. But when the time came he got a very convinient offer from 'some guy'. Needless to say the whole thing was a sham, just to try to reel me in, and once hooked get e to take the bait. I asked him to provide a shred of evidence, but he did none. I have spoke with the admins of tf2tp and tf2 outpost. He is banned from both sites. I can provide screenshot proof of his misdeeds if necessary. but hopefully the logs and links will do

Just for clarification (making sure I got this right): You & the guy tentatively agree to trade. He comes back and lies and says he got a better offer and then lies & says the hat is gone so he doesn't have to trade. But no items were traded, right?

If that's correct, the guy appears to just be a liar rather than a scammer. That's definitely a bad thing, but I don't think we can mark him for lying.

It's a bait and switch scam, he lured me in, after me offering a fair price (9 keys for a white painted item that goes for 6), then tried to swindle me by making up a story about a guy making an offer, saying he added him etc, so I didn't trade, and instead reported him. If that wouldn't warrant a caution or scammer tag, please accept my aplogies, I know you must be busy

It's definitely good that you reported him- clearly the guy isn't honest and dishonesty is not becoming of a good trader. After conferring with some other admins, I'm noting this and archiving this report. Thanks again for taking the time to send it in to us! I'm never too busy to help!
