What happened? Description:

He added me after I put my Gut Knife up for trade on csgotraders.net .
He provided a lot of information, took his time and invited me to his twitch stream where he showed his paypal account, facebook account and steam trade history to me. He explained to me how he was a very active and successful trader. He had a few trades of people "gifting" him items in his history (trying to prove how he had successfull trades with knives etc. before). He also clicked through his paypal account showing me how it was a business account and had $8000 cash available. He provided a lot of information like pictures of "his" ID card and drivers license, his "real" name, facebook account, adress etc.

We then went to discord where he proposed to live stream our screens to each other so I could see that he wasn't accepting my trade before he sent me the money on paypal. We also phoned for a few minutes. I was suspicious because his offer ($220) was a lot higher than my knifes market value (~100$ maybe). He was very friendly and helpful the whole time and tried to prove he was legit and professional by providing tons of information. I started googling some of the info he gave me and found this thread:

This is the main evidence that made me back out of the trade. I am 100% sure that the person I talked to is the same or a friend of the scammer in the thread linked above. The information this scammer gave to the scammed guy is exactly the same I received. Check the attached chatlogs from the thread above.

Not only that but also the steam profile used for the linked scam contains sections that are copy pasted to the steam profile via which he attempted to scam me. See for yourself:

Same birthday, info etc. (he might have changed it by now though)

I confronted him with the other account and how it was reported on steamrep and he admitted that it was "his friends account" (see attached screenshot 13.png) After I confronted him he unfriended me and went offline.
He didnt actually scam me but I hope the evidence I provided is clear enough to see the attempt.

Hope this evidence is enough to have the account reported on here so he has to spend some time to get a fresh account for scamming.
Please let me know if I left out any important information.​

also i would never ruin my bussiness account for refunding people's money and scamming

Not exactly. As I tried to explain, I didn't trade with him in the end, because I found his other account: http://steamrep.com/profiles/76561198080277995
It is 100 % clear that these two accounts are from the same person. Please refer to this thread: https://forums.steamrep.com/threads...counter-strike-global-offensive-items.185578/
The personal Info he gave to me (to prove that he was legit) is 100% the same as in the scam linked above. He gave the same name, photo of ID, telephone number etc. as to the guy that was scammed in the other thread. The method of setting up the scam was also exactly the same (showing off his trade history and paypal account via screensharing / twitch). I think it also is very telling that he was reported twice just in the 3 days since I submitted my report. If you compare those threads (that were rejected because it was about steam wallet codes) to mine you will see that he is always pulling the same stunt.

It is obvious that he just made another account after the former was reported here. He even admitted that the other account I linked was "his friends account". Thats why I didnt trade with him. It clearly is a scam attempt.

In the steam chat itself he only gave me his twitch account (which also is the same as in the other scam). The personal info is in the discord screenshot I attached where he added me (as you see in the steam screenshots). His discord account is also the same as in this scam (https://forums.steamrep.com/threads...counter-strike-global-offensive-items.188823/).

I see your point. Not accepting screenshots from a discord chat and relying on steam chat, however, seems kind of arbitrary. Especially since the Discord account the scammer used can be linked to his Steam account. What he said in Discord should therefore be treated equally to what he said on Steam. When you link my evidence to the accepted case of his alt account there really is no doubt. I do understand that that might not be possible under the rules you set here though.

I'm just glad I didn't get scammed and would like to increase the chances of other also not getting scammed by this guy - checking his inventory I see that he got like 10 new knives in the last 3 days alone. I would propose to at least tag him as a suspicious account or something like that if you have an option to do so. Nevertheless, Thank you for your time.
