    Scam Report

Report Type: [Trade Offer Fraud] Using Trade Offer URL fraud
Virtual item type involved: [CSGO] Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Items

    Accused profile: 765611981130963321

    Victim profile: 76561198381261541

    What happened? Description:
This person contacted me through one of my screenshots saying they needed to speak with me.
I added them and asked what they wanted and they began asking about my recent items from CSGO that I was scammed of. He then started to explain that he could attempt to get them back somehow and he wanted the profile of the fake account the previous scammer used to scam me. I said this was a bit weird but I shrugged it off just to see what this guy actually wanted.
He then asked for the details to how I was scammed and asked for an estimate of the value of items stolen. I told him those details and then he said he would attempt to contact steam and get my items back. I was a bit shocked and so I began asking him the reason he is helping and he just said that he is 'pissed that people are still falling for this'. He then asked for my trade URL which I sent over and then he sent a screenshot of a trade offer of him sending a CSGO knife to me. He asked me to double check the link in the screenshot and that he was still talking to steam support. I expressed thanks and then asked how he managed to contact steam directly as I have had trouble to do so in the past and he says that he has friends who work in steam support and one as a developer. He updates my steam link in the trade offer and sends a new screenshot showing me and then says that 'Steam' is asking where I had attained my items (the ones that were stolen). I told him those details and then he asks if I have added steam wallet funds before with the specific payment method and my name, country and age. I send him the my steam purchase history (stupidly), although they do not show any compromising information. He then says steam needs to verify I own the account so he asks for name, age and county. I tell him vague information that isn't exactly useful to fit that quota. He asks for a screenshot of the convo between me and the previous scammer and I explain that I didn't have them just his name.
He then says thank you and tells me to wait after he receives the screenshots of the purchase history and then confirms with me that I used my card for those transactions.
He then says okay and shares another victim of scamming and what they lost as 'steam wasn't responding'.
This is where I went from being unsure of his intensions to being convinced.
He asks if I am aware of the Steam trading policy and that I need to follow it before that trade (the one he screenshotted before) will be sent to me.
He then asks if I confirm the steam trading policy and if I want the knife he was going to trade me.
    I say yes.
He then says 'Steam' says that I need to purchase 70 TF2 keys to follow the Trading policy and in doing so I will be refunded right after.
I then say I'm not purchasing any keys and he says I won't be forced to do this and he will tell 'Steam' that I'm uninterested in getting that knife.
Then long story short he unadds me and that's that.
I thought he was cool for a bit until things started to not add up and he just ended up not making sense.
So I'm not really sure what this counts as or anything I'll leave that to you guys but yeah thank you for reading.

    IMPORTANT NOTE:
Prior to all this, I had posted a Discussion in the CSGO discussion section outlining how I got scammed previously in an attempt to get help and what to do. (how this person knew I got scammed).

There is no evidence between you and the accused, the accused history or username of that name was never used according to our records or what was available nor do you have any other way to prove that from what I can tell here.
There is really no way to verify identity between you and the accused so I'm forced to decline report due to that reason.

The verifying of account part would make the report INVALID either way since they are likely trying to hijack your account.
    report them to Valve instead.

Changing report to REJECTED as it was confirmed by the OP that it was made against the WRONG user.
This user wasn't GUILTY of any wrong doing!
