What happened? Description:

The first contact was made by the scammer when they commented on my profile regarding a possible trade with my knife, I looked at the steam profile like I always do and saw that they were a very high level and had a substantial steam inventory, much larger than mine, I then checked steamrep and saw that they had no negative reports against them, I then added them and messaged them, 3 days later they replied saying that they hadn't seen the earlier message. we then proceeded to discuss the trade regarding my knife, the scammer then proceeded to ask me to chat on discord where we worked out the fine details of the payment, I asked him to confirm the trade conditions in steam chat and he did, once the trade was initiated by me with my trade offer he said he received it and promptly blocked me, on both steam and discord.​

Provide Evidence:

he has since completely locked his profile when it was all open before, for some reason he has remained friends with me even though I'm on ignore, he still appears in my friend list. I have had to upload 3 screenshots I took on my phone because I was unable to take them on my computer due to him making his profile private.​

The person in question has unblocked me and contacted me on discord and has told me that they didn't "intend to scam me" and that there were issues on their end and that they will try to get the crypto together to pay me. this contact occurred after I posted the additional information and after they noticed the report on STEAMREP. The person in question also stated that their computer was hacked and their steam account was also hacked after I sent the trade offer to them and that's the reason why they didn't pay me.
They requested I post this reply before any permanent bans take effect.

this is the last bit of the conversation. I understand there is quite a lot to go through and it is on discord, the accused account is now community banned so they cannot communicate through steam.

yes I understand that he asked for steam chats, however his account is community banned and has said he is unable to message anyone on there. i will tell him to reply here when he wakes up

Hi Horse, I still haven't been paid, he messaged me over discord, and said he is still trying to get the money together.

He sent me two screenshots, one of him trying to log into STEAMREP and apparently getting an error and another showing the supposed reason for his community ban.

I asked them to give me my items when they first re contacted me in the beginning and they said they cannot trade due to the community ban on their account.

Today he agreed to send me my knife back as he still couldn't get any crypto to pay for it, this was four hours ago, I only just got home now to post this.

I guess this settles the matter.
