What happened? Description:

Scammer sent me a steam invite, the next day he attempted scam.
The scam method used was warning me of an impending steam ban and account removal, due to "random user(s) report of duplicated items". Scammer himself claimed that he is "Valve Fraud Prevention team". Bunch of threats that my account will be permanently banned and removed, scary stuff, rite?
My inventory was public before the scam started, however, I made it private, to see how the scammer would react. inb4, he got impatient and left.
Here are some screenshots of the conversation, me mostly pretending, and trying to waste his time, to explain as many things step by step(He was not willing to). Obviously in evidence section.


I am not quite sure of what would have happened next, because due to my amateur attempt in wasting the scammer's time, he got impatient quicker than I anticipated. I managed to figure out, that he is from asia, as Discord's preffered server was the Hong Kong one.​

Well, I'll make sure next time! I get those guys fairly often. And for a verification of friends on steam, I am pretty sure SteamID.uk has past friends functionality. Welp, Either way, I'll take lesson from this, and get into a game or something next time, and take ss's in overlay

It is sort of a shame honestly, because while not many people with over half a brain will fall for such scam, a lot of people DO CHECK STEAMREP before even adding someone. It is an inconvinience for the scammer, community's first line of defence.
