    Scam Report

Report Type: DO NOT SUBMIT TO STEAMREP - CD-Key, game code, Steam wallet code, or other code scamming
Virtual item type involved: [Steam] Steam Games

    Accused profile: 76561198350624677

    Victim profile: 76561198011012737

    What happened? Description:
User contacted me via Reddit comment (https://www.reddit.com/r/TwoBestFri..._automata_are_up_for_those/divzm26/?context=3) claiming that he had preordered several different games and no longer had time to actually redeem and play them. Intrigued, I PM'd him, and after exchanging a few messages, we got in touch via Discord, where he expanded upon what he had to offer, a total of 8 games of interest to me. Dishonored 2, Shadow Warrior 2, Titanfall 2 and Rimworld (for a friend), SuperHot, Tekken 7, Far Cry Primal and Dark Souls 3. In exchange for the 8 keys, he asked that my end of the deal would be $130 USD in Steam Wallet funds, or nearly $200 CAD. I purchased a $100 CAD Steam Gift Card and sent him the code, but the card 'was already claimed'. After going against my better judgement and deciding to try again, I purchased a $20 USD Steam Gift Card code from G2A, which did not work either, though at this point, I'm willing to believe that the seller provided me a working key, and this guy made off with more money. At this point, I was ready to give up, but I was persuaded by him again to try one more time. We decided that I would buy a knife skin for CS:GO, and trade it to him as payment for the 8 keys. At this point, I could have just bought the games myself for less, but I just wanted it to be done with. I traded the skin to him, and then his internet service was 'cut'. He told me that his credit card had been maxed out and he was in the process of restoring his internet access. Communication fell apart from there. He only ever came online for short bursts in the early hours of the morning my time, going offline again before I would wake up.

His Reddit account then mysteriously disappeared, and then I found this (https://www.reddit.com/r/GameTrade/wiki/scammers) which listed his Reddit username along with the steamID64 for both the profile he used for the trade and another profile, marking him as a scammer.

He messaged me as recently as this morning, but only said 'hi' before going back offline again.

I'm not looking to get the items I was trying to trade for, nor the knife skin. I just want to make sure that in the future, people won't be at risk of being scammed like me for being too trusting.

Attached is the exported chat log from Discord. Due to Discord not having a official means to do so, I had to go through a third party site. To view it, please go here and then open the file. User avatars are unavailable, but everything else is included.
