    Scam Report

Report Type: [Rep Fraud] Impersonation with intent to defraud
Virtual item type involved: [TF2] Team Fortress 2 Items

    Accused profile: 76561199032172632

    Victim profile: 76561198271165769

    What happened? Description:
*I originally posted imgur link for screenshots provided for this report. I have left them in this accusation, but proper files have also been provided for all chat screenshots, the trade history of the scam, and the scammer's steam account.

For the past few days I had my Death at Dusk Unusual Spook Specs listed for sale on Backpack.tf.

Here is a history link of the item: https://backpack.tf/item/12368492656

nils found this listing and proceeded to add me on Steam to trade for the unusual. After introducing himself, he requested if I could list the item on Bitskins.com so that he could eventually sell/trade it on there.

I unfortunately did not question this behavior due to my understanding that Bitskins is a trusted trading platform, especially for CS:GO skins. I then proceeded to attempt to list my item onto the website at the price we agreed upon. During this time nils attempted to walk me through the process and ensure that my trade link was working.

Looking back on this it was obviously a scam at this point, but I wasn't suspicious due to how poorly Steam's inventory api has been acting lately. It has been common for inventories not to load, so I didn't question nils' request.

After selecting my Spook Specs and defining the price I wanted to sell it for I was promoted to request a trade from one of Bitskins' trading bots. Unfortunately, I ended up trading with a fake trading bot owned by nils.

The profile of the imposter bot: https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561199403219950

    The genuine bot account: https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198212070213

Once I traded my item over to what I believed to be a Bitskins trading bot, nils started to request that I sell other items to him through means of the website. This behavior coupled with the fact that my item was not showing up on Bitskins made it clear that I had been scammed out of my item.

Through means of Backpack.tf I attempted to track down my unusual item and discovered that it was now in the inventory of a new user.

    Buyer of stolen item: https://steamcommunity.com/id/nimrodshaman20/

This user only spoke in Russian, but by using Google translate I was able to confirm that they bought my Spook Specs off of nils for 100 keys (via trade).

After learning this I confronted nils and he essentially confessed to scamming me.

Also, just in case this wasn't horrible enough. I found out that there is a genuine nils account that the nils I traded with was impersonating.

    Genuine nils account: https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198254882979

I understand that no one can have my item returned to me, but I would greatly appreciate if you could mark this fake nils as a scammer.

    Provide Evidence:
I have uploaded multiple files to this report which are titled appropriately to portray my chat logs with the scammer, the trade history of the scam, and the steam profile of the scammer as accessed through the steam chat app.

I have also left imgur link within my main report due to not realizing I could not use them in my finalized report. If you would like me to redact them in an update, I'll gladly do so.

Within my main report are also steam account links which will direct to the scammer, the impersonator bot they used on me, the real bot they were impersonating, the user that eventually bought my stolen item, and the steam user that the scammer in question is impersonating.

If any of this is unclear or confusing please let me know so that I may restructure my report. Thank you.

Well I don't use Windows and I'm quite certain I can only access my conversation with the scammer via the Steam Chat mobile app (Which explains the .pdf screenshots I took on my phone then emailed to myself to submit here). When I attempted to pull up the chat on my Mac it doesn't appear. I suppose this report won't get reviewed. At this point, I'd just like to get over it.
