What happened? Description:

The accused sent me a friend request on dec 1 in Steam. I have been trying to sell a high value TF 2 item for a while. The accused wanted to buy the high value item for 1500 dollars on Paypal. However I don't have a lot of experience with trading in general so my reputation wasn't built up. He claimed that he has a lot of reputation and showed a bunch of links of a profile that looked pretty similar to his profile with a lot of positive ratings. Due to the reputation difference he wanted me to send the item first and he would then send the money afterwards. He then proceeds to send me screenshots that he sent the money. I assumed that paypal had a delay and proceeded to continue trusting and believing him. He then wanted most of my TF 2 items for 500 dollars. I was planning to sell those items at some point anyway so I agreed to it with the same conditions as before. After that he basically went radio silence and completely offline but still in my friend list. When I looked a bit better at the trusted profile I noticed it was different from the accused profile but at that point it was already too late.

The only contact I had after that were e-mails from paypal that a weird new e-mail address was requesting payment from me. I never received money and I didn't send money to the payment request. When I asked the accused about it as well as the money not being sent he wouldn't respond properly and would only spam me with steam voice call requests. I declined those and asked him what he wanted but he never ended up responding. After that I got worried he would try to scam me again and I decided to block and unfriend him.​

At the time his profile picture matched the above accounts profile picture and he also had his profile public with a bunch of links to his 'trustworthy' account.

I put 1 screenshot in there with a chat but thats a screenshot from the accused that he sent me as proof he had the money to pay me. I already unfriended and blocked him so I don't have any other unedited proof of the chat. However that in combination with the logs should show the full conversation. If you need more proof I would love to cooperate and provide more.​
