    Scam Report

Report Type: [Item Fraud] Quick-switch trade scam or attempt
Virtual item type involved: [CSGO] Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Items

    Accused profile: 76561199508785873

    Victim profile: 76561198069931765

    What happened? Description:
This user scammed me of a good proportion of my Steam inventory (1) on 15/11/23 where I had traded my items to him at 5.32 am, 5.38 am, and 5.56 am AEDT. He had added me to trade my Falchion Knife | Slaughter and had offered to 1:1 swap my knife for a Talon Knife | Ultraviolet.

As we were about to trade, he had asked me to list my knife on Bitskins, a third-party CS2 trading website, for $9999 to see whether it was "marketable". Once he had seen the knife on the website, I would immediately delist the knife and we could continue the trade normally, on Steam. I shouldn't have believed him. He had offered to help me do this, on Discord (3), which was another red flag I did not take heed to. I am aware Discord screenshots are not allowed here, so I will not post them. They aren't much anyway.

He had called me on Discord to 'help' me with this process and had asked me to share screen, and unbeknownst to me, he was using my screen info to send me trade offers from bots disguised as BitSkins bots. Unfortunately, I was too tired and had let my guard down immensely. I do not have many screenshots of the specific trade offers, citing 'verification errors' except for one, which is attached. Under the pretense of "verification errors", I was instructed to trade more items as an "assurance" for my knife worth US$350, and ultimately stupidly gave away approximately US$300 of DOTA, TF2, and CS2 items to the accounts. I have attached screenshots of the items I had traded away (5). Unfortunately, I even had approved it on the authenticator, because I really had trusted this guy, thinking he was a real trader.

These BitSkins 'bots' had sent me trade offers citing verification errors that required additional skins to 'match the value of my knife'. The scammer had even provided me with I assume, edited, screenshots of conversations with a BitSkins support member, the Bitskins help page, and the purchasing screen. Once I had sent him my items, he kept me on his friends list promising to return my items, but I have already conceded the fact that they are gone, of course. Unfortunately, this report is slightly late, as I was preoccupied with exams.

I can attach the identity of the account that the scammer used to contact me, but that inventory has no items, and I did not trade any items with him. I have attached screenshots of all the accounts involved. Please note the inventories are private so I have attached a screenshot of the inventory of only one of the bots. But I can provide screenshots of the csfloat.com/db of the bot account inventories which verify that I traded my items to the bots.

I am unsure if this report will be accepted, but I am sincerely hoping it is. I will provide as much evidence as possible, he is a career scammer, and it is clear I am not the first person he has scammed. He has to be marked on SteamRep, along with his bot accounts, so that traders in the future can steer clear of this guy.

    Thank you!

There is an earlier (invalid) report of him at this URL: https://forums.steamrep.com/threads...counter-strike-global-offensive-items.200695/
