What happened? Description:

Hello! This user (Reloap; http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561199649733551) added me interested in buying an item I was selling on the steam market. We spoke and agreed to trade $80 for two of my TF2 items. We decided to use PayPal as I couldn't think of any other way outside of Steam to pay. We talk more and an issue comes up on his side. On PayPal, he can't send less than $500. Weird. His idea is to use a middleman who would receive his payment and hold my items. Once we all agreed, the middleman would pay me $80 for the original deal and return my items. Well, he brings up a middleman known as DenX (steamID64: https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198417808624) He also sends me a link to a reddit page (https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSteamTrading/wiki/index/) as a form of reputation, I guess. I know, in retrospect I was very ignorant to fall for this. I was convinced the middleman could be trusted and sent him some valuable items. I asked for DenX to recieve the payment, which he would pay me the $80 for the original trade and my valuable items back as well as return the surplus to Reloap. However, Reloap claims his is limited to $1K when sending in PayPal because the middleman is outside of the US. So they start trying to convince me to give $1k worth of items as collateral instead. Thats when I got suspicious. I looked into their accounts deeper and found they'd already been called out by a few other users. I reported them both and the two other "middlemen" found on the Reddit to Steam. The middleman (DenX) is still trying to convince me to add more items for the trade. Again, I know I was very ignorant to fall for this. Please get these guys.​
