I've done Temporary trades with people before to see if I (and we) like the hat.
I've never had a problem with it. But I fear that one time the person might trade with me and block me, keep the hat and rip me off.
If we had a written agreement and it was broken does that make them at fault and breaking a SteamRep rule? And there by able to get a ban?

Thanks for the help any everyone.

Yes, for not upholding the trade agreement you got.
Please keep in mind that this written agreement shoud be in the form of screenshots (mostly a chat where you agree to the terms).

normally you trade with collateral in such cases.

Say you lend someone a unusual that is worth 1 bud, you trade the unusual for 1 bud + a key to ensure you get the item back. There is NO point to run the risk when its not needed to.
