Just got scammed, any advice?

    Hiya, so I just got scammed for about $55 after trying to trade with a guy off CSGL. I added him, he had 31 pages of rep so it seemed legit. I sent him money over paypal and he blocked me. I'm kind of new to steam in general so does anyone have any advice for me? Anything would be appreciated, thanks.

    Did you check the guy on SR? and who was it (provide SR ID block)?

    The only thing you can do is report 'm here on SR. Valve does not support out of steam trading, so you will not get your money back or items granted or w/e.

    As it was a paypal transaction from your side, you should look into chargeback options. As these depend on the type of transfer you did, and also most times do not work out, we cannot really help you there. Also we would not publicly advice people on how to do so, even if we believed they where genuinely scammed etc. to not form a guide for others to do this.

    These 31 pages wouldn't happen to be on the accused's profile by any chance, would they? Scammers often "+rep" each other from alt accounts to make themselves look legit. More on reputation: http://forums.steamrep.com/threads/what-constitutes-reputation.12391/

    if you also provide the paypal screenshot of your payment history, that is enough to tag him. The combined name history on your screenshot and the history on SR links his account to your scammer.
