There was no victim in the incident, as I knew he was fishy from the start.

Description:
I was playing TF2, when I was greeted by a friend invite from the scammer. He asked me if I was willing to sell my buds for $35 each, and that he wanted to buy my unusual with cash too. Me, being a guy who rarely deals with cash, decides to investigate a little bit. I noticed he was under trade probation, and had a recently created account with only 52 hours of gameplay. I asked him if he had rep, and he linked me to a person named "Hana"'s rep thread, which had absolutely nothing to do with him. He attempted to paypal scam me, and impersonated a trusted player.

He panned out fine with me, even sent me a small payment to prove that he would be sending me money and I refunded him. I said I'd go first after we talked for a while since he showed me his little rep. I was stupid and didn't think of actually googling him or anything. He didn't have any trade bans at the time either. I lost a pair of buds, but I guess I'm okay..
