What happened? Description:

I was told a Autographed Dota 2 item was worth much more that it actually is, and before I could get any proper pricing for it until I had completed the trade at which point I realised I had been scammed. I had just been in a competitive match with this person, after which he added me as a friend and as soon as I accepted he sent trade offer for my csgo knife for his Autographed Dota 2 item (Autographed Talons of the Writhed Executioner) which he started off as quoting to be worth $300. I check for it on the steam market and there were a couple of identical items which were priced at around £100. I posted a question on the Dota 2 Lounge Steam group forum, and I got a reply only a few minutes after I had completed the trade saying that the item that I was trading/traded for was complete garbage. He removed me as a Steam friend after I asked him If I could have my knife back.​

Provide Evidence:

I am unable to get the chat history as he removed me as a friend and my pc restarted without my knowledge to do windows updates.​

When I review my friend list for scammers I'm tired of seeing this report... so what OP is saying is that they didn't investigate the value of an item. You had enough sense to ask D2L for a price check but apparently didn't wait for the answer. Sorry but you made a mistake and this is a gray area where you should really be blaming yourself.

I enjoy being a dick to the scammers who befriend me... but I'm fair and this report is a joke. How is it still pending?
