On 2/1/2013, I found this person using tf2outpost.com, and I have the actual trade still in my closed trade history on the site. His thread was advertizing earbuds for $35 USD, he had a lot of steam rep, and seemed to be around for a while. I added him to friends, he accepted, I checked in game to make sure this was the same person who posted the for sale thread, all links to steam profile worked fine. I sent him the $35 + the $1.67 for fees via paypal, he said he was going to check on it, he went offline, when he was back he didn't answer me, dropped me from friends, put me on ignore, and closed all of his tf2outpost trades.

Hello, no it was the first and only time I was scammed. After he dropped me, I still had the chat window open and was going to take a pic of it with my phone (i didnt know how to get a ss of a chat box otherwise I would have done it then) but nothing incriminating was said, he just said he was going to check on it and never said anything after that before dropping from friends.

I mentioned this to the admins on outpost and they said to make the report anyway. Is there any log in game of chats? If its in the files somewhere I can pull it up, but I dont have any screen shots of the chat box.

Ok, thanks. The chat was very brief, he asked if I understood the terms, ie. gifting it and making the remark in the notes. I said yes, and I asked if I could have the level 35 one as opposed to the other since it had a shorter owner history and he said sure. After I sent the paypal, I told him, he said he was going to check on it, and that was the last I heard from him.

I have sold several buds in the past to Spooky Pete and I know he's trustworthy so I figured I would try to help him out. I had him add Arthas and then start a multi-user chat. Arthas claims the payment was denied or held by PayPal. Here's our short chat



When I asked Arthus to prove PayPal held the money he told me to wait and deleted me.

Also Niko was marked for +repping a scammer on SOP and he received a reclaimed for this - the appeal was accepted and tag downgraded to Caution.


Well, shame Arthas. I guess making of an alt won't help you at all since SR staff members and other community members can check user IPs and other stuff.

I was helpful guy
I always found time for my friends
I hated scammers and cheaters
My motto was : "With great power comes great responsibility."

BUT!!!!

Once, everything changed
People changed me ...ppl which scammed me
Money changed me ...money which I earn I have lost
Power changed me ...I was powerfull and respectful man, now I lost all

Its hard to feel bad for you. I was the one who got shorted a bud for no other reason besides I was American and probably a kid. It sucks you got scammed in the past, I know how you felt... but get revenge on them, don't take it out on someone else. Had you done the right thing with me in the first place I would have bought a few more buds off you, instead I had to do this
