    Scam Report

Report Type: [Gambling] Fake gambling website
Virtual item type involved: [CSGO] Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Items

    Accused profile: 76561197963100578

    Victim profile: 76561198048501170

    What happened? Description:
Randomly added me without any prior interaction or communication, asked me to become a moderator on his gambling site in return for skins as payment. Upon checking his link, the logon for the website is a fake, impersonating the real Steam logon page for third party sites.

I spotted this by asking a friend with experience in coding and website development to check his site, and he attempted to log in with an alternate account. After logging in, even though he doesn't have the mobile authenticator enabled, it immediately asks for the mobile authenticator code to fully log in. A minute later, he receives an email saying someone attempted to log into his account from another country.

Called him out on it and was instantly removed as a friend.

    TechnoBeaver: hi
    TechnoBeaver: reason for invite?
    Christian: Hi
Christian: Would you be interested in being a chat moderator for a gambling site? I can offer paypal/btc/skrill or just any skins, since I am buying from opskins.
    TechnoBeaver: uh what site?
TechnoBeaver: i dont gamble very often
    Christian: https://skinsglobal.com
Christian: You don't have to gamble in my site :)
    Christian: Just look after chat
TechnoBeaver: why are you selecting me?
TechnoBeaver: how many people use your site
Christian: Currently in site 23 people
    TechnoBeaver: ok, well sure
TechnoBeaver: i guess ill be a mod
    Christian: Okay.
Christian: Rules is in Terms of Service section.
Christian: You should have green name in chat and options button next to users writing in chat.
TechnoBeaver: and how will i be paid for moderating
Christian: I will buy skins in opskins for you
    TechnoBeaver: ok
    TechnoBeaver: what's your main account
    Christian: https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198039018135
TechnoBeaver: so why did you select me? and find my account?
    Christian: Just random add.
    Christian: You got mod commands?
TechnoBeaver: you'll need to give me a few minutes
    Christian: ?
TechnoBeaver: you see, this is where common sense kicks in and you mess up - good scam site, i like the landing page, decent job there- but the fake steam login page is a poor phising link
    TechnoBeaver: https://owo.whats-th.is/fed482.png
TechnoBeaver: isn't it interesting that that's not my ip, and i didn't just try to log in just now?
    Christian is now Offline.
TechnoBeaver: and isn't it interesting that the mobile authenticator appears even though i used an alt without a mobile authenticator?

Forgot to mention, another way we could tell this was fake is because when inspecting the website's code, you can see references to csgomagic, meaning they stole code from other websites and/or are using their same exact splash screen style.

    Hi @TechnoBeaver

Thank you for the report, and sorry for the long response time. However this counts as a phishing attempt which falls outside of the SteamRep Investigative Policy: https://forums.steamrep.com/threads/steamrep-investigative-policy.140101/ and therefore I am marking your report as Invalid.

Also next time you submit a report can you upload all evidence directly to the forums rather than to 3rd party websites like Imgur
