Description: The user in question contacted me. He had Bioshock Infinite: Season Pass (what BS:I SP stand for in the paypal screenshot). I told him I already had Burial at Sea episode 1, so it would have to be cheap. He asked for $8. I offered $4. We ended up deciding on $3 and a gift copy of gmod. Before it went through, I asked him why his steamtrades account had -6 rep. He said an impersonator must have been giving out his steamtrades profile, claiming it was theirs. This didn't make much sense to me, so I sent the paypal money as money for goods or services, not money to a family member or friend. I gifted him gmod. Sure enough, he then didn't gift me the Season Pass. In the paypal dispute, he posted a random 8-digit number as the UPS tracking code (despite it being the wrong format and this being a digital good) and claimed I was a scammer.

Paypal has given me back my money. He got off with a gift copy of gmod that frankly has been sitting in my inventory for years, so no big deal. But he is a scammer, and his steamreps profile should show as much. Unfortunately, I don't have a copy of the transcript (I closed the chat out too early). I've now set up Steam Logger++ 1.2 so that if there's ever a next time this doesn't happen again.
