I have a quick question, how do you know that you've been reported for fraud? I've had a couple of users who've been trying to scam me out of my items to the point where I don't even know who's warning me or scamming me. Also, if I've had been reported for fraud, how many days do I have in order to prove that I am innocent? Is there a way to be notified on what I've done something wrong? If you have the time, please answer these questions whenever you're ready. Thank you for reading this post.

Simply go to your SteamRep profile on https://steamrep.com/ , either by searching for it or by logging in. There will be a warning displayed if you have any currently open reports, you can also find any past reports by clicking "Search SteamRep Forum".

This is your profile: http://steamrep.com/profiles/76561198139806989 , you have no current or past reports.

Okay then. A little background: I made this post 9 months ago: https://forums.backpack.tf/topic/66438-scam-stolen-steam-api-key/ and I regularly read new reports at https://backpack.tf/issues

The guide doesn't even try to explain how to avoid being phished. I tried my best here: https://forums.backpack.tf/topic/68426-scamming-bots-what-is-that/?do=findComment&comment=609933

This is simply messed up. Point 4 is too early in the sequence, then "decline" is repeated again in point 5, there's a mix of "you"/"Steve", "fraudsters"/"scammer", "their mobile app"/"his mobile auth".

The correct decription would be something like this:

This sounds like a copy-paste from some other guide. If you fooled someone into thinking you're on BitSkins then you just let them "deposit" directly to your bots, you don't need this elaborate "redirected offer" scam.

I have never seen or heard about fake Marketplace.tf website. It just doesn't make sense: scammers need victims to trust real Marketplace.tf even if they suspected something during fake log-in.

I've seen probably 20+ different short-lived domains with the same fake popup (skinwiz/skin2bet/skinsvalue/etc) and victims were always urged to "login" with
    * either "before I send you an offer, just check the price of your item at xxx.com"
    * or by promising a coupon/free item (like here in comments: https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198256259336)
It's probably much more common than "similar-looking" domains or adwords.

This might make people who do not "deposit" feel safe. However, I've seen multiple reports where scammers "redirected" two-sided trades. Granted, this gives a victim more chances to suspect that something is wrong (as the trade becomes one-sided) but it still works quite often. Once a victim said he noticed it but thought it was "just a Steam glitch" and confirmed anyway.

    Examples:
    https://backpack.tf/issue/5b57a5cb44325a6fed1ac70c
    https://backpack.tf/issue/5b5bb0b344325a11a017a8b8
    https://backpack.tf/issue/5b5c72d6cf6c7510a0450de7
    https://backpack.tf/issue/5b66a34ccf6c7534825d1d0f

It could help to emphasize that the scam consists of 2 parts and the 2nd part can happen days later.

Some people say that changing your password already does that but I did not test this myself.

Finally, it probably would make sense to note that this scam is not reportable here on SteamRep.

Hello, Steamrep staff members. I'm asking y'all, for a sensitive thing. I'd like to ask if this guy's an admin at any (BIG and TF2-related) sites.

Common scam tactic - you can submit a proper report if you like - make sure you also include in description that other account they asked you to add too.
I've hidden the users ID here since this isn't a proper place to accuse someone.

Proving identity is vital - way to many users impersonating others. Way to many people make reports and report the wrong user.
If we can't verify identity then its too risky to process and tag anyone.
Wouldn't be fair to the accused. Put yourself in those shoes.. you were accused yet someone impersonated you. We tagged you without any proof of identity just a chat log showing your profile image and name. That isn't enough and we both know it.
    Make sense?

We really can't talk about a report since you weren't involved. There may have been things you can't see that we do see at that time to determine identity.

Please make sure you read the reason you were given.
This link notes that we do not review cases where phishing or hijacking is involved or threatened. This must be handled directly to Valve via in profile reporting or you can submit a steam support ticket.
    http://forums.steamrep.com/threads/investigative-policy.140101/
Sorry to say that is the result of the report but as soon as hijacking/phishing of account info is involved that puts the report out our hands per policy. This account involved that you reported may not even be under the control of the real owner and it itself hijacked. This is why reporting such activity to Valve and not here is what you need to do as they have the proper tools to review such activities.
    Thanks!

This doesn't have anything to do with SteamRep or safe trading...please don't spam randomized questions thru out the forums here.
    Thanks!

The original post does not indicate what matter of subject is required, it however states that a question can be asked to an individual or as a whole. Feel free to browse back at page1.

I wonder why steamrep not accepting phising attempt reports? I once create a report but rejected because of no trading involved. I keep getting these "what's your rank?"* type of scam attempt. I can't filter these kind of people because steamrep refuse to mark these kind of people. I do believe the site name is steamrep, not steamtraderep.

*what's your rank(scam method): basically strangers added you, ask "what's your rank in csgo", some chit chat to gain your trust("wow that's a good rank, come play at this site to gain free items") , then ask you to login into tournament site.
